Employees of Kent State University may qualify for participation in the federal Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program.
Under this program, full-time employees can apply for forgiveness from certain types of student loans, possibly reducing or eliminating their debt. Following a national search, Kent State University has selected F. Jack Witt III as its new vice president for human resources. A Kent State alumnus, Witt currently serves as vice president of human resources and administration at Owens Community College in Toledo, Ohio. He joins Kent State on Sept. 6.

On June 28, Kent State University’s Division of Information Services will begin implementing a Captcha service for the Kent State online directory. A Captcha is a security feature that differentiates people from internet bots by presenting online users with a simple visual puzzle, often made up of distorted text.

The events of May 4, 1970, placed Kent State University in an international spotlight after a student protest against the Vietnam War and the presence of the Ohio National Guard ended in tragedy with four students losing their lives and nine others being wounded.
