Angela Spalsbury, Ph.D., of Chesterland, Ohio, has been selected as the new dean and chief administrative officer of Kent State University at Geauga in Burton and Kent State’s Regional Academic Center in Twinsburg. A Kent State alumna, Dr. Spalsbury currently serves as professor and chair of the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at Youngstown State University. She will join Kent State on Jan.
The Three Minute Thesis (3MT) Finals are Friday, Oct. 27, from noon-2 p.m. in the Kent Student Center Kiva. The 3MT gives Kent State University graduate students just three minutes and one PowerPoint slide as tools to explain their research in a clear, engaging and concise manner.

The events of May 4, 1970, placed Kent State University in an international spotlight after a student protest against the Vietnam War and the presence of the Ohio National Guard ended in tragedy with four students losing their lives and nine others being wounded.
