The Kent State University School of Art Collection and Galleries present “Re-Emergence,” an exhibition that features local artists Ben Bassham, Debrah Butler, Jeff Fauser, Judy Gaiser, Linda Hutchinson, Tom Jackson, Dan Lindner, Geoff Mowery, John Sharp and John Smolko. The exhibition will be on view June 18 through July 31, 2021 at the KSU Downtown Gallery in Kent. An opening reception will take place on June 18 from 5-7 p.m. The exhibition and reception are free and open to the public.
"Re-Emergence" brings together works of art by friends who, more than ten years ago, joined their talents to form a cooperative gallery in Kent called Group Ten Gallery under the sponsorship of the late Ron Burbick. The gallery closed during the pandemic, but the artists stayed in touch online during these months and shared images of current projects as well as words of encouragement. This exhibition signifies the group’s reunion after over a year of art venues being closed or at restricted capacity since the lockdowns last year, limiting the opportunities to show work.
“Re-Emergence” includes drawings, paintings and sculpture created by the artists within the past eighteen months. A brochure will be available at the gallery.
The KSU Downtown Gallery is located at 141 East Main Street in Kent, Ohio.
