Biography

Megan Smeznik joined Kent State University as an Educational Technology Designer in December 2021. She previously worked at The College of Wooster as the Educational Technologist: Arts and Humanities. During her time at Wooster, Megan worked with faculty and students on several projects related to the intersection of history and technology. In 2019, Megan and the group she assisted, The Wooster Digital History Project, received an award from the local historical society for their efforts to help preserve history but also create stronger community partnerships.

Prior to Wooster, Megan worked in the museum sector as an educator and researcher. Currently, Megan serves on the National Council of Public History’s (NCPH) committee, the Digital Media Group, as one of the co-organizers for the Digital Public History Lab at the annual meeting. The lab works to facilitate experiential learning opportunities for public historians, educators, students, and others with digital pedagogy, tools, and project support.

Megan received her Bachelor’s in History from The College of Wooster and Master’s in History with a special concentration in Public History from Kent State University.
