Local elementary school students cheer on the Golden Flashes on School Field Trip Day

On Dec. 19, more than 1,500 young students from local elementary schools came to watch the Golden Flashes women's basketball team play the Lake Erie Storm at Kent State's Memorial Athletic and Convocation Center.  The young Golden Flash fans were in attendance for School Field Trip Day presented by Ohio's 529 College Advantage. Nick Saban, Kent State alumnus, retires from a long and illustrious career coaching college football.

Kent State University alumnus Nick Saban, considered one of the greatest college football coaches of all time, has retired from the University of Alabama, where he coached the Crimson Tide for the past 17 seasons. Saban, a native of Fairmont, West Virginia, graduated from Kent State with his bachelor’s degree in elementary education in 1973 and earned his master of education degree in health and physical education in 1975. Kent, Ohio – The School of Art Collection and Galleries at Kent State University are pleased to announce a new exhibit, The truth is out there (No, really…) by Christine Zuercher. This show consists of fifteen cyanotypes as well as a video projection.
