The legacy and dedication of Connie Espenschied Hess, one of Kent State University at Tuscarawas’ first employees, will carry on after her passing in 2020 with the establishment of a new scholarship that encourages students to be their best. The Connie Espenshied Hess Make a Difference Scholarship was created to perpetuate Hess’ mission of encouraging all students to continue their formal education after high school no matter their circumstances. Congratulations to Recreation, Park and Tourism Management alumnus David Williams for being a recipient of the 2023 Ohio Parks and Recreation Association Outstanding Leadership Award winner. Williams, the founder and owner of David Williams & Associates, received the association’s highest honor as the newest inductee into the OPRA Hall of Fame.
