In April, members of Kent State University’s Chapter of AFS traveled to Cleveland to attend the annual Metalcasting Congress hosted by the American Foundry Society. COL. THOMAS J. HOGAN ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP

The Col. Thomas J. Hogan Endowed Scholarship was established to support students pursuing a degree in Political Science. Col. Hogan graduated from Kent State University with a degree in Political Science in 1956. To be eligible for the scholarship you must be a Kent State University student in their junior year of study majoring in Political Science, with a GPA of at least 3.0 and the demonstration of financial need as determined by the student's FAFSA form. First preference will be given to a student who is an Army ROTC Cadet.

THE ERIK HEIDEMANN SCHOLARSHIP

The Erik Heidemann Endowed Scholarship is awarded to a total of three graduate and undergraduate students in the department of Political Science. Dr. Erik Heidemann was a colleague in the department who proved to be a stellar teacher, a committed scholar and an active member of the department during his short time with us. He passed away unexpectedly on Sept. 3, 2013. His parents Marlinda and David Heidemann created this scholarship as a memorial to their son, to support both the undergraduate and graduate students majoring in Political Science.

JOHN LOGUE MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

John Logue, Professor of Political Science at Kent State University for over 30 years, was the founding director of the Ohio Employee Ownership Center at KSU. He was deeply committed to promoting economic democracy and saw employee ownership as a means to that end. In his memory, the John Logue Memorial Employee Ownership Scholarship was established.
