The Center for Disability Inclusion recently held a day-long seminar for their Professional Development and Case Management (PDCM) Project for Seamless Transition at Kent State’s Center for Philanthropy and Alumni Engagement.Titled, “Sustaining Atomic Transition Habits,” the symposium brought together 31 multi-agency transition teams that consist of transition coordinators and special educators, rehabilitation counselors, and service and support administrators from 10 regional county boards of developmental disabilities.These multi-agency teams are helping youth with cognitive disabilities (i....

The Longest Day: Door/Window Decorating Contest

We are determined to help end Alzheimer’s by raising funds and awareness for the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer’s Association. Curious about drones' campus applications and the legal aspects of flying them? Join our workshop tailored for the Kent State community, hosted by the College of Aeronautics and Engineering: “Drones: Toy, Tool, or Airplane? Coexisting with Planes.”

Beyond Compliance and what it means

You may notice that some trainings for faculty and staff are marked with "BC." Two hours of Beyond Compliance (BC) training are required of all staff every fiscal year, and strongly encouraged for Tenure Track/Full-Time Non Tenure-Track faculty. This initiative keeps the university compliant with Title IX of the federal Education Amendments of 1972, and The Campus SaVE Act, part of the 2013 reauthorized Violence Against Women Act.

Register for Reimagining the Academy Conference

Faculty, staff, students and community members are invited to join us at the Reimagining the Academy: Coalition-Building in a Divided World Conference, which will be held Sept. 20-21. Click here to register before Friday, Sept. 6. The Call for Proposals is also open and will close on Monday, June 3. We also encourage you to sign-up to be a volunteer, because without your support this conference would not be possible. The deadline for volunteer sign-ups is Friday, Aug. 30.
