The Ohio Controlling Board has approved Kent State University’s request to purchase property located at 430-436 E. Main Street in Kent from seller GDR Partners LLC. The purchase of the property completes the university’s strategic acquisition of properties on this block associated with partnership with the city of Kent and the economic revitalization of the downtown business district. Kent State University Police Services Officer Tricia Knoles is featured in a video promoting a new training program for police officers in Ohio. The Kent State University Police Department was recently reaccredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA). The recognition comes after a comprehensive review of the agency and marks the eighth time the department has received the accreditation award. For the fifth time, the department also received the designation of Advanced Law Enforcement Accreditation with Excellence.
