The Three Minute Thesis (3MT) Finals are Friday, Oct. 30, from noon-2 p.m. in the Kent Student Center Kiva. The 3MT is a research competition that is coming to Kent State University for the first time and is offered at more than 170 universities. The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program at Kent State University is looking for volunteers and interns to provide free income tax assistance to qualifying individuals during the upcoming tax season. VITA offers tax preparation assistance to low-to-moderate income taxpayers.  The service is free to students, employees and community members who meet the eligibility requirements. The National Collegiate Honors Council (NCHC) has named Dorvan Byler, a 2015 graduate of the Honors College and the College of Arts and Sciences at Kent State University at Stark, as a Portz Scholar for 2015. Yvette Mendoza and David Pittman are a match made at Kent State University. Mendoza is the administrative assistant in the Kent Student Center.
