John S. Brinzo Scholarship

This scholarship requires that you be a first-year student admitted and enrolled in the Ambassador Crawford College of Business and Entrepreneurship at the Kent Campus with a minimum high school GPA of 3.0. You must also demonstrate community involvement and extracurricular activities.

Carl E. Bartlow Memorial Scholarship

For this scholarship, you must be an incoming first-year student admitted as a pre-accounting major enrolled in the Ambassador Crawford College of Business and Entrepreneurship at the Kent Campus. You must have a minimum 3.0 high school GPA and demonstrate leadership and service. Preference will be given if you are from Stark County. This scholarship can be renewed if you maintain a 3.0 GPA and remain in the accounting major.

The Spanish minor enables students to develop skills in listening, speaking, reading and writing, as well as acquire knowledge of the literatures and cultures of Spain and Latin America. To achieve these goals, students study grammar, composition, speaking, Spanish and Spanish-American civilization and Spanish-American and Hispanic literature with emphasis on culture.

Russian - Minor

The Russian minor offers a solid grounding in both spoken and written Russian, in addition to a broad-based understanding of Russian literature and culture. By cultivating linguistic proficiency and cultural literacy, as well as a greater appreciation for the diverse cultures within the Russian-speaking world, this minor prepares students to visit Russia and interact in informal and professional settings with native speakers.

  2. Compose routine social correspondence and descriptions of a factual nature in Russian.
  3. Demonstrate a historical knowledge of Russian history and culture and understand the diverse nature of culture throughout the ages.
  4. Discuss cultural differences, distinguishing between fact, opinion and stereotype.
  5. Communicate effectively and sensitively to diverse ethnic and cultural groups.
  6. View concepts, issues, events and themes from the perspectives of diverse ethnic and cultural groups.
  7. Maintain an ongoing assessment of their own cultural values and behaviors.
