Christina M. Redfern, RN, MSN, APRN, PMHNP-BC
Biography
Christina M. Redfern has been a registered nurse since 2014 and a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) since 2019. Christina started her nursing career in 2014 working inpatient in a hospital setting in medical surgical care. She also has experience in orthopedics. Eventually, she transitioned to working with the acute behavioral health patient population.
Christina has been a part-time clinical faculty member at Kent State University since 2018. In August 2018, she became a full-time employee and began teaching the mental health nursing courses at the undergraduate level within the College of Nursing.
She obtained her Master of Science in nursing in 2019 and began her work as a PMHNP-BC in Geriatric Psychiatry. In 2021, she transitioned to a community outpatient mental health center and specializes in addiction medicine and child psychiatry.
She is a lifelong student committed to nursing professional development and plans to start her doctorate in nursing practice in August 2022.
