Biography
Taryn R. Burhanna, MSN, APRN, NP-C is a Lecturer and Clinical Instructor at Kent State University in Kent, Ohio. She has been teaching for 5 years, and this is her third year teaching full time at the University. Her nursing experience includes neurology and cardiology positions at the Cleveland Clinic, University Hospitals and the Veteran’s Affairs Louis Stokes Cleveland Medical Center.
Mrs. Burhanna’s current role is as Course Coordinator of Community Health Nursing and Primary Care and Health Promotion as a Nurse Practitioner for underserved persons in Portage and Summit Counties. Her varied experiences support her focus of assisting nursing students how to better understand the context of the communities they serve and how to advocate for vulnerable populations.
