General Education Assessment

The University Requirements Curriculum Committee (URCC), a subcommittee of the Educational Policies Council (EPC) comprised of faculty and administrators, has been charged by the Provost to conduct a review of the General Education program at Kent State University, known as the Kent Core. Informed by Kent Core assessment data from previous years, the URCC provided recommendations to Faculty Senate regarding strategies for enhancing the competitiveness of our general education model and its alignment with the university's mission. Based on this report in fall 2019 and other evidence collected from across the University, updates to the Kent Core are underway.
