For five decades, the Kent Blossom Music Festival has nurtured young artists from all over the globe, giving them the opportunity to grow as musicians and collaborate with some of the world’s most talented musicians and teachers. With 12 performances on the calendar, the 2023 season of the Kent Blossom Music Festival runs through Aug. 6.

The Kent Blossom Art Intensives welcome students and artists to campus to create art and learn from artists from around the world. 

Every summer, Kent State hosts an immersive experience in fashion for high school students.

Kent State University’s Porthouse Theatre has kicked off the 2023 season with Broadway classic, “A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum,” which runs through June 24. This Stephen Sondheim, Broadway classic merges the energy and wit of vaudevillian performance with the 2,000-year-old comedies of Roman playwright Platus.

Kent State University observed Juneteenth this weekend with a Juneteenth Jubilee. 

Kent State University's annual Juneteenth Jubilee will take place on Friday, June 16, and will feature vendors, food trucks and live performances. 

Acclaimed television producer and writer Don Reo is coming to Kent State Florence as a guest speaker and to and receive a lifetime achievement award. 

A recent survey on Kent State Today asked people in the Kent State community to share their feelings and memories about Juneteenth. 

"Poetry and science are not opposites, they’re actually allies," said David Hassler, director of Kent State University’s Wick Poetry Center. 

Hassler paraphrases American poet Jane Hirshfield, who, in 2017, contacted him to collaborate on a Poets for Science project, which is now an interactive exhibit and writing invitation housed at the Wick Poetry Center on the Kent Campus. 

What first began in 1972 with a small group of Kent State architecture students and faculty traveling to Florence, Italy, for a few weeks has blossomed into one of the most prestigious education-abroad programs in the country.
