Community Impact

Members of the Kent State University community invite faculty, staff and students to join in creating Holiday Peace Baskets on Saturday, Dec. 10, 2022, between 9 a.m. and 11:30 p.m. at the King Kennedy Community Center, 6660 Garfield Road, Ravenna.

Residents of Kent are ready to ring in the holiday season with the return of the Kent Skates ice rink this November.

If you find yourself expending too much time and energy this semester, Kent State has some lesser-known resources that are intentionally designed to save you both. These eight resources are free for students and were specifically crafted for students.

Delta Captain Stephanie Johnson is all smiles seeing her daughter, Alex Johnson, and Laura Wilson featured in a Kent State advertisement at Cleveland Hopkins Airport. 

Flashes Fighting Hunger and Community Engaged Learning hosted a food drive for all members of the Kent State and local communities to donate non-perishable food and toiletry items to fill up the truck. 

Kent State has been recognized for its efforts in support of student voters. The ALL IN Campus Democracy Challenge named Kent State to its list of ALL IN Most Engaged Campuses for College student voting, which recognizes institutions for making intentional efforts to increase student voter participation.

Kent State University students rose to the challenge as they competed to win $2,000 at LaunchNET’s Elevator Pitch contest on Wednesday evening.

The Kent State community came together on Thursday to honor all veterans. 

Volunteers from the Kent State community helped in the annual planting of Daffodil Hill.

Ceremonies on campus today honor all who have served.
