Dr. Michelle Corvette, Assistant Director of the Center for Teaching and Learning

Michelle Corvette is the new assistant director of Kent State’s Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL). The CTL’s mission is to enrich student's lives by supporting faculty members with evidence-based, student-focused and innovative teaching and learning measures. Peggy Shadduck, Ph.D., vice president for Regional Campuses and dean of the College of Applied and Technical Studies at Kent State

Peggy Shadduck is vice president for Regional Campuses and dean of the College of Applied and Technical Studies. She serves as the senior officer responsible for overall leadership of the Kent State Regional Campus system. Her role promotes student enrollment and academic success and is responsible for expanding the visibility, influence and effectiveness of Kent State as a catalyst for regional development.

Roseann “Chic” Canfora, Professional-in-Residence

Roseann “Chic” Canfora, Ph.D., is a Professional-in-Residence at Kent State University in the School of Media and Journalism, part of the College of Communication and Information. Prior to teaching at Kent State, Canfora served as the chief communications officer for the Cleveland Metropolitan School District and taught high school journalism and speech. Canfora was also a student at Kent State, starting in 1968, and is a survivor of the May 4, 1970, shootings at Kent State. She graduated with her master’s in journalism and public relations and bachelor’s in English/speech. She is heavily involved in activism as well.

Darin Olson, D.M.A., the new director of Athletic Bands at Kent State

Darin Olson, D.M.A., is the new director of Athletic Bands at Kent State University. He leads the Marching Golden Flashes, Flasher Brass Pep Band, Kent Symphony Band and University Band. Olson is currently an active member of College Band Directors National Association and the National Association for Music Education.
