WKSU
The School of Media and Journalism has long fostered a close connection with 89.7 WKSU. That relationship is expected to remain strong as WKSU merged and combined operations with Ideastream Public Media, October 1, 2021.
The Kent State University Board of Trustees gave approval for the university to enter into a public service operating agreement with Ideastream Public Media for the management and operations of the WKSU stations at its Sept. 15 meeting.
WKSU and ideastream have been awarded a $100,000 grant from The Corporation for Public Broadcasting to explore opportunities for growth and expansion of public media service in Northeast Ohio.
Due to an overwhelming response for free tickets for the Kent State University Presidential Speaker Series featuring Bob Woodward on May 4, the university has moved the event to the Memorial Athletic and Convocation Center (MAC Center).
