I just wanted to thank you for the opportunity to be a part of the Colloquium in Women’s Studies, and for everything that you have done for me. I say this because I have been in so many classes since returning to college and I have some that taught me, some that have reached me, and only this one that has changed my life.

The conversations that I have had with women in my life would have never happened without this course and I will always be in your debt for this beautiful gift you have given me.

I just want you to know how much I appreciate the insights that you have provided and how you have completely changed my way of thinking. There are absolutely no words I can find other than thank you to express my sincere appreciation for you and this amazing course. If there is anything that I can ever do for you, please do not hesitate to ask. I just wanted to send you a little email letting you know that your feedback on my work in your class motivates me. I love when I get on blackboard and I see that you graded something of mine and I see the little bubble beside my grade. I needed one more upper level elective to graduate and I randomly chose your course. I am so happy I did! I have taken the new knowledge I am learning from your course and starting conversations with people with topics that I had no interest in before.

Dr. Holt is fabulous.

I come away from every class thinking in new ways, being challenged and feeling that I have grown intellectually.

She is uniquely cooperative in her teaching style and works to be respectful of everyone. She goes the extra mile to help her students and encourages learning in a positive manner. I'd take a class from her again. Anytime! Totally inspirational.

“It is hard to find the words that would truly convey the full range of emotions I felt when reading through all of the module material. It is particularly vexing the state of affairs reproductive rights are in currently. … [L]ooking back at the time line of reproductive laws and challenges, it would seem for every three steps we take forward in securing the right to bodily autonomy, we take four steps back. [One of the readings in particular provided] a perspective on abortion I had never taken into account before: … how the abortion provider felt about the situation…. Letting each other get our stories out and where we are all coming from … broadens perspectives of people having [crucial] conversations. We can't change the narrative around things that we aren't even talking about.”
