Kent State University's Minor in Africana Studies provides students with a focused understanding of the histories, cultures, and social contributions of people of African descent worldwide. The program offers an interdisciplinary approach, covering topics such as African and African diasporic history, literature, politics, and cultural expressions. Designed to complement a wide range of majors, the minor equips students with critical perspectives on issues of race, identity, and social justice, enhancing their ability to engage thoughtfully in both academic and professional settings involving African and African American communities.
