Mentorship Opportunities

A Mutually Rewarding Experience

You may remember the moment a professor, peer or mentor changed the trajectory of your college career. Here is your chance to guide the next generation of Golden Flashes. On the flip side, if you need resume help, career advice or are looking to expand your network, participating as a mentee is a great opportunity. The program includes both alumni-to-alumni mentorship and alumni-to-student mentorship and it is open to all alumni, faculty, staff, students and friends of Kent State.

Become a Mentor
  • Sharpen your leadership skills
  • Shape the next generation of Golden Flash talent
  • Give back to your alma mater

“I was looking for ways to reconnect with Kent State, build up my confidence and help students who are in the same place I was once.”
- Jacqueline Flickinger, ’20, Alumni Mentor

Become a Mentee
  • Receive career guidance
  • Improve your resume and cover letter
  • Build your professional network

“I was looking for someone who understands me, my goals and pushes me. The best part was having a mentor who went through the same program [fashion merchandising] as me.”
- Brittany Ochoa, ’26, Mentee

“It was valuable having someone to talk to and encourage you. I learned to be the change you want to see.”
- Ivory Kendrick, ’26, Mentee
