Whether you’re serving on an alumni board or helping reduce food waste and promote food security, Kent State provides volunteer opportunities that fit our alumni's strongest passions. Our largest annual volunteer event, Flashes Give Back Week event, is held each spring, but Kent State is accepting volunteers year-round.

Each year, the Kent State community comes together to honor the courage, sacrifice and service of those who have worn our nation’s uniform. After the ceremony and lunch at 1 p.m., guests can volunteer to plant daffodil bulbs behind Taylor Hall to honor the U.S. service members who lost their lives in the Vietnam War.
Volunteer with the Wick Poetry Center for the Poets for Science Gathering, a multi-day event. Volunteers will assist at the registration table, in the cafeteria and during the book fair. Duties may include greeting attendees, directing people to session rooms and transportation, etc.
Volunteers will help wrap thousands of gifts for more than 750 children across 10+ local school districts during The Ben Curtis Foundation Very Merry Wrap-a-Thon! Join the fun, kick-start your holiday season and help make the holidays extra special for local children and families.
Our Flashes Forever family is growing, and we are seeking volunteers to assist with Kent State’s Fall Commencement ceremonies!
