Strategic Planning Fellow

Na’Tasha Evans selected as Strategic Planning Fellow

Na’Tasha Evans, assistant professor of Health Education and Promotion in the School of Health Sciences, began serving as the 2022-2023 Strategic Planning Fellow for the Anti-Racism and Equity Institute last fall. The Fellowship is designed to provide administrative experience to faculty members interested in leadership and decision-making activities in support of anti-racist programming and scholarship. As the Strategic Planning Fellow, Evans will meet regularly with AREI leadership to work on current initiatives, as well as idea generation and implementation. This may include program development, research and grant writing, and direct engagement with community partners.

Dr. Evans’ work aligns closely with the mission of AREI – to promote innovative anti-racist research, support intellectual connections and collaborations across disciplines and institutions, and amplify accessible and relevant community-facing inquiry. Dr. Evans’ research is centered on health disparities and minority health with a focus on maternal and infant health and patient-provider communication. She has established the Research and Education Collaborative for Health Disparities (RECHD), a program engaged in interdisciplinary, community-based research with a concentration on health education and promotion. Her strong background in assessment, implementation, and evaluation allows AREI to help identify, understand, and prioritize the needs of anti-racist researchers at Kent State.
