Gwendolyn Frank, AIA
Biography
Gwendolyn Frank, AIA, is a Project Architect with Perspectus and a Kent State University graduate (B.S. Arch. & M.Arch.). Her professional experience includes a variety of project types, including healthcare, with a range of clients. In addition to her design work, she is an advocate for the development of emerging professionals. This dedication to upcoming generations started in school with multiple graduate teaching assistant positions and has continued into her recent roles as the AIA Ohio Early Professional Director and now AIA Ohio Licensing Advisor. Some initiatives while in these roles include helping establish the Early Professional Friendly Firm Program in Ohio, establishing quarterly meetings that bring together early professional leaders from across the state and speaking at the AIA Ohio and AIA National Conference.
Since embarking on her professional path, she considers herself lucky to have worked with many talented individuals both inside and outside of the architectural field, ranging from students to seasoned veterans. These experiences have provided an invaluable frame of reference when breaking down complex design scenarios. One of her most memorable experiences was an opportunity to intern in the facilities management department at the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland. In that role, Gwendolyn developed a deep understanding of this hidden architectural gem and how a building runs after the architect is gone.
Gwendolyn’s organized style and keen attention to detail drive her to uncover the best solutions for any project. Guided by strategic vision, enriched by creative collaboration, she is inspired to continue building a support framework for future generations of architects and in turn a better world for all.
