Madelyn Orcutt
Biography
Madelyn Orcutt is an interior designer at Richardson Design in Cleveland, Ohio. She joined the company in 2021 after receiving her Bachelor of Arts in Interior Design at Kent State University. Madelyn specializes in hospitality projects within the greater Cleveland area. She has worked with a variety of clients from start-up business owners to well-acclaimed chefs in the booming culinary scene of Cleveland. With only a few years in the professional field of interior design, Madelyn looks at the profession with a fresh set of eyes.
During her time at Kent State, she excelled at learning outside of the classroom. She studied in Florence, Italy (2020) and participated in a ten-day workshop in New York City (2019). Beyond traveling, she worked as a research assistant, studio course assistant, and participated in the Kent State Undergraduate Research Symposium where she presented her paper, “Performing Taste: The Queer Modernity of Designer Elsie de Wolfe.” Madelyn’s academic success was well awarded by Metropolis Magazine as one of their “Future100” recipients for the class of 2021.
