Adam Salberg
Biography
Hi, my name is Adam Salberg and I am a senior at Kent State University. I am majoring in Integrated Science, and plan to graduate in the Spring of 2018. In 2016, I participated in two international trips that impacted my life significantly. First, I traveled to Ouanaminthe, Haiti as part of a service learning trip through the University of Akron. We spent a week at Institution Univers; a school that educates over 2,300 Haitian students ranging from Kindergarten to 13th grade. We spent time building mosquito net frames, basketball hoops, and teaching English, Art, and College Prep classes.
After this experience, I developing a nagging curiosity to see more of what the world has to offer. I wanted to experience other cultures, and immerse myself into a foreign environment. I signed up to go to Florence, Italy as part of the Summer Institute Program offered by Kent State University. After the program, I traveled independently through Switzerland, France, Spain, and Ireland.
As an intern in the office, I am focusing on international service learning. It is my goal to provide Kent State students with an opportunity to travel to Haiti, and other countries to complete service projects. I believe that international travel creates educated world citizens, and helping other human beings during these life changing experiences can make monumental differences.
