Danielle Sarver Coombs, Ph.D., the interim associate dean of the College of Communication and Information, spoke at the International Scientific Conference on the Digital Communication in the Age of Social Transformations at Ajman University in the United Arab Emirates Sunday, April 16.
Coombs was the keynote speaker at the conference's opening session. She discussed social media, its impact and the use of new digital communication tools by media corporations.
According to its website, the goal of the conference is to aid media outlets in catching up with digital communication technology, create partnerships among media outlets in Arab countries and develop plans for educational institutions to better prepare their students to face the changing media environment.
