Kent Communication Society (KCS) and Lambda Pi Eta (LPE) have joined forces to raise funds for Relay for Life on April 17-18 at the Field House.

Their theme is Power Rangers with members of both student organizations, along with faculty and staff of the School of Communication Studies, joining forces to fight cancer and fundraise for cancer research.

T-shirts are on sale through KCS. Shirts are $12, and $4 from each t-shirt sale will be donated to the School of Communication Studies relay team.

In addition to fundraisers, KCS and LPE will collect donations for raffle baskets to present during Relay for Life. They are asking local businesses to donate items and gift cards to support cancer research.

Members attended a Chipotle fundraiser on March 18 at Chipotle and donated 50% of their sales to Relay for Life.

Signing up for the School of Communication Studies relay team adds to the fundraising efforts, according to Kara Curry, KCS President. A donation of $10 to sign up for the team will add to money raised by the School of Communication Studies for cancer research. “The best part about Relay for Life is that everyone is there for one common goal: to fight against cancer,” Curry said.
