Senior communication studies major, Katelyn Braunegg joins the marketing and public relations team for the School of Communication Studies this fall. She looks forward to gaining more experience in public relations and getting to work with faculty members. In addition to interning and finishing up her major classes she is also pursuing two minors in public relations and organizational communication.
While at Kent State University, Braunegg has been an active sister of Alpha Xi Delta, performed in the Kent State dance program’s student and faculty performances and a member of the Provost's Leadership Academy. Braunegg was also a dancer for the Canton Charge, the D-league affiliate of the Cleveland Cavaliers.
This summer she completed an internship with Covelli Enterprises, the largest franchisee of Panera Bread. Her job duties included planning the Panerathon which is a 10K/ 2 mile Run/Walk benefitting the Joanie Abdu Comprehensive Breast Care Center (JACBCC) at St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital. She was the main communication contact with the sponsors and vendors of the event, as well as monitored all social media accounts.
Braunegg is from Cortland, Ohio and is expected to graduate in spring 2016.
Whenever she gets a free minute, she likes to spend her time doing yoga, teaching dance and watching television.
