Na’Tasha Evans Selected as Strategic Planning Fellow for Anti-Racism and Equity Institute

Na’Tasha Evans, assistant professor of Health Education and Promotion in the School of Health Sciences, has been selected to serve as the 2022-2023 Strategic Planning Fellow for the Anti-Racism and Equity Institute.

The Fellowship is designed to provide administrative experience to faculty members interested in leadership and decision-making activities in support of anti-racist programming and scholarship.

As the Strategic Planning Fellow, Evans will meet regularly with AREI leadership to work on current initiatives, as well as idea generation and implementation. This may include program development, research and grant writing, and direct engagement with community partners.

Through this work, she will have the opportunity to:

  • Gain a broad view of institutional operations
  • Increase administrative knowledge and experiences
  • Develop understanding of how AREI compliments and challenges current university functioning
  • Extend and strengthen AREI administrative resources, and
  • Provide faculty involvement and input into the activities of AREI.

Evans’ work aligns closely with the mission of AREI – to promote innovative anti-racist research, support intellectual connections and collaborations across disciplines and institutions, and amplify accessible and relevant community-facing inquiry.
