TLCS Professor Included in 2024 List of 100+ Latinos Cleveland Must Know

In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, EHHS is proud to announce that Assistant Professor Francisco Torres, Ph.D., in the School of Teaching, Learning and Curriculum Studies, was named to the 2024 Cohort of 100+ Latinos Cleveland Must Know

Other Kent State University staffers on the 2024 list include Julie Vandegrift (Philanthropy and Alumni Engagement) and Joseph Oritz (Environmental Science and Design Research Institute).

Over the years, a total to nine Kent State staffers have been recognized in the 100+ Latinos Cleveland Must Know. They include:

2023 Cohort

  • Maky Espinoza (Moore Center)
  • Renato Camacho (Trustee Board Member)

2022 Cohort

  • Ilianna Velez (Moore Center)
  • Daniel Diaz Nilsson (EHHS)

The "100+ Latinos™ Cleveland Must Know" is an initiative created by AmMore Consulting in 2020 to elevate the profile of the Hispanic/Latino/Latine/Latinx community of Greater Cleveland and other metropolitan areas. AmMore provides a platform for greater visibility, exposure, professional and leadership development opportunities for professionals that self-identify as Hispanic, Latino/a/x/e.

This platform is intended to shine a positive light around Latino professionals and the Latino community. AmMore's efforts are focused on changing the narrative and expanding the awareness around who Latinos are and what are our contributions to the United States.
