William Kist, Ph.D
Biography
William Kist, Ph.D., is Professor Emeritus of Education at Kent State University and is a former high school English teacher (Akron Public Schools) and curriculum supervisor (Medina County ESC) in the areas of English/language arts, social studies, and foreign language instruction. For 20 years, Bill has worked as a consultant with schools and organizations, including the New York City Department of Education; Allentown (PA) School District; Delaware Department of Education; Conseil Scolaire de district catholique Centre-Sud, Toronto; Atlanta Public Schools; Columbus Area Writing Project; University of North Texas Writing Project; and many Ohio districts including the Cleveland Metropolitan School District, Akron Public Schools, Wooster City Schools, and Copley-Fairlawn Schools. A presenter of many keynote addresses focusing in the area of technology integration, he has penned five books including New Literacies in Action, The Socially Networked Classroom, The Global School, Getting Started with Blended Learning, and his new book, Curating a Literacy Life: Student-Centered Learning with Digital Media.
