Becoming a Brave Teacher

A three-day summer workshop (July 31 - August 2, 2024) for pre-K - 12th grade teachers, led by Dr. Todd S. Hawley and Dr. Sonya Wisdom

Participants will:

  • Develop portraits of their own practice as brave teachers that they will continue to expand as part of the Brave Teaching Collaborative monthly meetings during the 2024-2025 school year;
  • Create individual, context-specific goals for how they plan to enact brave teaching throughout the school year in their classrooms; and
  • Leave with resources, examples of specific pedagogical approaches of how they can enact brave teaching in their classrooms to engage all students across content areas, and a deeper understanding of the impact that brave teaching has on students, parents, and the community.

Mathematics Education Online Workshops

Kent State University is offering Online Workshops designed specifically for math teachers and math intervention specialists. Each workshop is comprised of five modules and five assignments. Workshop participants may begin the workshop at any time; they have 6 weeks to complete the assignments and receive one Continuing Education Credit (10 contact hours). Cost: $50 (for 1-CEU)
