Kent State of Wellness is pleased to launch the second year of its Seeds of Wellness Program. Seeds of Wellness is a mini-grant program that provides funding for projects that reflect Kent State University's investment in health and wellness across the university system. A limited number of mini-grants, up to $1,000, will be awarded to fund initiatives that focus on the eight priority areas.
Applications for the grant are due by 11:59 p.m. on Oct. 15.

Senior insurance studies major Alexis Bartee was in Texas caring for her elderly grandparents when Hurricane Harvey hit. From that experience, she has learned more about her chosen field than any classroom could have taught.
Treatments for poisonous snake bites and parasitic diseases were only two of the many unique learning experiences nine graduate and undergraduate students from Kent State University’s College of Public Health experienced on a summer trip to Brazil – Rio de Janeiro and Manaus, capital city of the Amazonas.
Online midterm grading for all fall 2017 lower-division undergraduate courses (levels 00000, 10000, 20000) meeting in the full term (Aug. 28, 2017, through Dec. 10, 2017) began Sept. 18 via FlashFAST. Please remember that midterm grading applies ONLY to courses that meet for the full semester.
Online final grading for fall 2017 First 7 Weeks (W1) begins Thursday, Oct. 12, via FlashFAST. Grading is also now available for any fall 2017 course section that was flexibly scheduled. The deadline for grading submission is midnight on Tuesday, Oct. 24. Any final grades for fall 2017 courses not reported in FlashFAST by the grades processing deadline will have to be submitted using the Grade Change Workflow. These fall 2017 courses will be available in the Workflow on Thursday, Oct. 26.

At Kent State, we want to honor the celebration of our Native American and Indigenous culture by developing a calendar encompassing all the university events that are relevant to Native American Heritage Month. The Native American Heritage Month Planning Committee is welcoming university divisions, departments and student organizations to begin submitting their programming, activities and events to the University Events Calendar to be featured on the Native American Heritage Month Website.
Open Enrollment is from Oct. 16, through Nov. 3. Each year in the fall, benefits-eligible employees may select and make changes to their health coverage plans based on their needs and the needs of their family.
