Kent State University’s Strategic Enrollment Management (SEM) plan represents a comprehensive, university-wide effort aimed at enhancing enrollment and graduation rates. With a strong emphasis on the student experience, the SEM plan aims to make strategic enhancements in six core areas:

  • Academic Affairs
  • Data and Technology
  • Enrollment, Access and Completion
  • External Visibility and Brand Awareness
  • Fiscal Sustainability
  • Student Support Services and Co-curricular Experiences

Launched in 2020, the SEM plan enables Kent State to effectively oversee the entire student life cycle. This involves identifying, recruiting, enrolling, retaining and graduating students who align with the university’s mission, all while ensuring fiscal stability.

System-Wide Strategic Planning Coordination

Kent State University strives to become a national leader in generating the highest level of student access and completion. The SEM plan fosters long-term enrollment efforts with a systematically inclusive approach.

In an effort to create a strategic culture that is coordinated across our eight-campus system, the Office of Strategy Management facilitates the coordination of all university strategic plans. This framework aligns university strategies, priorities and initiatives to enhance organizational effectiveness.
