Biography

Aanchal Bakshi graduated with her BA in Fashion Design from Kent State School of Fashion and earned an MA in Costume Studies from New York University.

After working in design in New York City, she pursued a career in fashion history and academia. Previously she has worked with undergraduate & graduate students at New York University, conducted research for the Queens Museum, and assisted with the archival of collections at the PVH Corp. Archives.

 In addition to co-curating the 2019 exhibition “Gray Area: Authenticity, Value, and Subversion in Art”, Aanchal has presented her research on subcultural fashion at symposiums held at New York University and Drexel University. She continues to participate in the field as an active team member of Fashion Studies Alliance, a New York City based organization.
