Go With The Flo

Go With The Flo project will be piloted as a collaboration between Kent State and  Kent City schools to provide elementary, middle and high school age menstruators with the resources and support they need. We look forward to expanding on this pilot project in the future.

This project is a collaboration between the 22-23 Newman Civic Fellow, the Kent State University Women's Center, Kent City Schools and the Kent Health Department. It relies on donations from the community, including menstrual hygiene products such as pads and tampons of all sizes, cosmetic bags, and underwear.

This project is extremely important, as period poverty, or the lack of access to menstrual products, affects over ten million menstruators in the U.S. alone. Additionally, over five million of these individuals are forced to choose between menstrual products or food. Because of this, providing access to these products is a vital part of sustaining a healthy community.
