Biography

Erin Hetrick has been an LIS adjunct instructor for Kent State’s iSchool since 2016 and regularly teaches LIS 60700 Foundations of Museum Studies remotely from Indiana. In formal and informal settings, she explores the pathways learners of all ages seek meaning and connect to information.

Hetrick also owns and manages Genius Fish, LLC, which contracts with cultural organizations to develop educational programming and conduct visitor studies. Prior to working with information institutions through her own business, she worked at the Children’s Museum of Indianapolis and the Museum of Life and Science in Durham, North Carolina. In addition to her experience teaching graduate level courses, Hetrick was a High School Latin teacher after she completed her BA in Education (Latin) at the University of Michigan. She also has an M.A. in Museum Studies from Indiana University.
