Mara Daiker
Biography
Mara L. Daiker, MS, CPHIMS, RHIA, SHIMSS is an adjunct faculty member for Kent State University's iSchool where she instructs coursework related to health records management.
Ms. Daiker is also the Director, Professional Development for the Healthcare Information Management Systems Society (HIMSS), a global advisor and thought leader supporting the transformation of health through information and technology.
Ms. Daiker’s career path to HIMSS includes a HIM role as an Operations Manager at an academic teaching center and Level I adult trauma center and then HIT roles as an analyst and then applications manager for an interdisciplinary system where her and her team oversaw the development, deployment and support of applications across four hospitals and over 60 primary and specialty care clinics.
Ms. Daiker is a Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) and a Certified Professional in Healthcare Information and Management Systems (CPHIMS) with a bachelor’s degree in Health Information Management from The College of St. Scholastica and a master’s degree in Health Care Informatics from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. She is a Senior member of HIMSS (SHIMSS) and an active member of the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) and its component state association, the Wisconsin Health Information Management Association (WHIMA).
Ms. Daiker lives in the Milwaukee, WI area with her husband and two children.
