Biography

Dr. Timothy J. Dickey has been an adjunct instructor for the MLIS program at Kent State for almost ten years. He is currently an adult services librarian with the Columbus Metropolitan Libraries; before that, he worked with Lynn Silipigni Connaway at the OCLC Office of Research. He teaches courses in user studies, reference services, library technology, research methods, and music and humanities librarianship for Kent State, Catholic University, and San Jose State University. Dickey has presented at numerous professional conferences around the United States on topics such as teaching research methods in LIS programs, the behaviors of digital information seekers, and data mining. He is the author of Library Dementia Services: How to Meet the Needs of the Alzheimer Community (2020) from Emerald Press. He has also created e-courses for the American Library Association (ALA), is a frequent invited speaker, and has conducted staff training on the subject of Library Dementia Services.
