- This program courtesy of the Adventure Center covers the basics of indoor climbing, including equipment, bouldering, top rope climbing, and belaying with an ATC and Gri-gri device.
- Location: Climbing Wall - Cost: $4 *All programs require a minimum participant number to run.

- Journaling isn’t just about writing—it’s a powerful way to sort through thoughts, emotions, and life experiences.
- It can boost memory, lower stress, and even improve your overall well-being.
- In this hands-on CAPS workshop, you’ll learn simple strategies for therapeutic journaling, and have time to practice.
- All attendees will receive a free journal.

WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 23 -- INTERCULTURAL STUDENT LIFE'S INTERNATIONAL STUDENT RESOURCE FAIR
- Orientation and the beginning of the year can be overwhelming, so this is a second opportunity to learn about campus resources and how to get involved and find support at Kent State as an international student.
- Fair is open to new and returning students.
- There will be free tote bags for the first 200 students! And free, delicious Kent State cookies!
- This resource fair runs from Noon - 2 p.m. in room 218 of the Kent Student Center.
WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 23 -- LIVING WITH LOSS SUPPORT GROUP
- CAPS' Living with Loss is a support group for students who have experienced the death of a loved one.
- It offers a caring space to connect with other students who understand what it's like to lose someone.
- The group can provide a sense of community, help you feel less isolated, and encourage healing through compassion and support.
- It's always your choice how much you share. Whether your loss happened recently or years ago, you are welcome. Meetings are held weekly on Wednesdays.
- You don’t need to sign up to come to meetings – simply show up!

THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 24 -- DISTRACTED? UNDERSTANDING ADHD WORKSHOP
- Can’t focus? Constantly juggling a million tabs (literally and mentally)? This CAPS workshop breaks down what ADHD really is—with topics like brain functioning, hyperactivity, and impulsivity—and how it shows up in everyday college life.
- We’ll talk about time management, organization, decision-making, and even relationships.
- You’ll also learn practical strategies like mindfulness and other skills to help you get a handle on distractions and boost focus. No ADHD diagnosis needed—if you’re curious, you’re welcome!

THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 24 -- DINNERS WITH FRIENDS
- Dinner with Friends is a program hosted by Civic and Community Engagement in the Center for Student Involvement, Kent State Votes, and Undergraduate Student Government that is designed to connect different members of our community—students, faculty, and staff—through engaging, facilitated conversations over dinner.
- The program’s core idea isn’t about being an expert on any given subject or even producing a plan at the end of the conversation but instead prioritizes the act of conversing and building connections with people you might not ordinarily meet.
- We'll spend the evening connecting and learning about each other’s experiences.
- The program will consist of four facilitated small group conversations, each of which will be lightly organized around one of four different topics that will be announced closer to the program date.
- In the past, topics have included responding to food insecurity, supporting mental health in challenging times, finding community on campus and beyond, and advancing environmental sustainability.
- Catered dinner provided. Registration is limited. Due to the nature of the program, participants must commit to being present for the entire event when registering.
