Meet our Team
Jennelizabeth Sepúlveda, Senior Academic Advisor II for the Online Master of Music in Music Education program, has worked at Kent State University for over a decade and has been serving the Master of Music in Music Education program for the last four years. She is responsible for recruitment, enrollment management, student support services, and other areas to best support student success. As a proud Kent State alumna, she earned her M.Ed. in Higher Education and College Student Development and a B.A. in Theatre Studies. She is currently pursuing her Ph.D. in Higher Education Administration. She is certified in career construction and her recognitions include being a recipient of the ACE Women’s Network professional development scholarship, NACADA’s scholarship for professional development of advisors through graduate studies, and the Terry Kuhn Undergraduate Advising Award for Senior Advisor I.
Herbert Marshall, Ph.D., holds degrees from Michigan State University, Syracuse University, and Temple University and taught for 11 years in upstate New York. He has completed teacher education courses in Orff-Schulwerk, Music Learning Theory, Weikart, and Laban. Dr. Marshall is an accomplished author, having written the book “Strategies for Success in Musical Theatre,” and he also serves on the advisory board for the Music Educators Journal. Additionally, his work has been published in various texts from Oxford, GIA, and Rowman & Littlefield, as well as in journal articles. He has led workshops and presentations throughout the United States as well as in Malaysia, South Africa, Lithuania, Spain, and Scotland. Dr. Marshall is an active clinician, consultant, and conductor and teaches workshops for the Gordon Institute for Music Learning.
Master of Music in Music Education
Designed with the working teacher in mind, our 100% online program allows students to further their education while continuing to teach in their current position. By completing this program, students will be able to immediately bring the concepts and ideas from their coursework into the classroom.
The MMME program offers an affordable tuition rate of $655 per credit hour. This program does not require auditions or GRE, GMAT, or MAT scores for admission. With 31 credits to complete over 23 months, the program is designed for working teachers looking to further their education. The classes are structured into 7-week sessions, allowing for flexibility and convenience. This program is an excellent opportunity for music educators looking to enhance their teaching skills and bring innovative ideas to their classrooms.
