Kent State University’s 6’9” center with a deep, booming voice is an imposing force having earned a spot in the starting rotation during his freshman year, but spend a few moments with the team’s top big man and you’ll find him friendly and approachable.

Just two years out of high school (St. Francis de Sales in Toledo, Ohio), the oldest of seven children carries a great deal on his shoulders as Kent State prepares for Indiana University in the NCAA Tournament.
“Everybody welcomed me with open arms. Everybody treated me like I was their own. There was none of that ‘you’re a freshman’ ... everybody’s just been all together since I got here.”
