  Spring is in the air, and so are the talented faculty and student dancers of Kent State! The annual Spring Faculty Dance Concert and Student Dance Festival, presented the Kent State School of Theatre and Dance features original choreography by members of Kent State University’s dance faculty and performances by dance majors and minors.   The concert and festival was led by Jenn Black and Catherine Meredith as artistic directors. Sparkle: The Style and Jewelry of Aileen Mehle Exhibiton

In honor of the Kent State University Museum’s 40th anniversary, this exhibition pays tribute to Aileen Mehle, a friend of the museum founders and widely syndicated society columnist. The exhibition features evening dresses and jewelry from Mehle that will be displayed in the museum’s historic Higbee Gallery from July 18, 2025, through Aug. 23, 2026.

Mehle, who lived from 1918 to 2016, wrote under the pseudonym Suzy Knickerbocker and enjoyed a career spanning five decades – from the 1950s until her final column in 2005, which she wrote at the age of 87.

 Staci Hall, a 2013 cum laude graduate of Kent State University at Ashtabula with a Bachelor of Arts degree in sociology was named the 2025 Roger T. Beitler Distinguished Former Student Award recipient. She received the award at the campus’s 80th commencement ceremony exercises on Thursday, May 8, 2025 in the Susan J.
