The purpose of the fieldwork experience is to provide occupational therapy students with the opportunity to integrate academic knowledge with application skills at progressively higher levels of performance and responsibility. The unique contributions of fieldwork experience include the opportunity to test first-hand the theories and facts learned in academic study and to refine skills through client interaction under the supervision of qualified personnel.

The new Leadership Certificate Program at Kent State focuses on enhancing students’ intrapersonal, interpersonal, and socially just leadership skills. Beginning in the Fall 2025 semester, the Kent State University Combined MS/DI Program will accept applications for preadmission from current Kent State University students only. Applicants for preadmission must submit a Personal Statement, Resume and one Letter of Recommendation from a work or volunteer site.
