Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine has appointed Lara Boman of Ashland, Ohio, to a two-year term as a Graduate Student Trustee of the Kent State University Board of Trustees. Boman’s term began July 28, 2023, and ends May 16, 2025. She replaces Haley Crews, whose term as a Graduate Student Trustee recently expired. Boman is currently pursuing her doctorate in exercise physiology at Kent State. Kent State University Paris American Academy will not be open for students for fall 2023, but the program will resume operations in Paris, France, in January 2024. The students who registered for fall 2023 classes at the Paris American Academy can attend the New York City Fashion campus or Kent State Florence in Italy. An explosion occurred on June 21 in the historic building that housed the Paris American Academy, where nine Kent State students, plus faculty and staff, were located. May 4 Visitors Center Experience
The May 4 Visitors Center and Historic site is a museum consisting of a permanent exhibition examining the events leading up to the May 4, 1970, the shootings, and their aftermath. Flashes 101 tours last 50 minutes and are led by May 4 Visitors Center staff. During the tour:
