Award-winning songwriter Joey Contreras, a 2020-2021 Roe Green Visiting Artist, will present a virtual Songwriting Master Class on Thursday, January 28 at 7:00 p.m. via Zoom. Contreras will share his knowledge and experiences while offering guidance to help you build confidence as a songwriter. Students can submit works in progress to receive feedback in a safe, collaborative space, as well as learn the basics of song structure, the art of storytelling and the importance of honed in intention. The College of the Arts is proud to continue the acclaimed Thomas Schroth Visiting Artist Series with virtual presentations this spring dedicated to the College's commitment to celebrating diversity within the Arts.
The next guest speaker of this year's series is actor, director, educator, and activist Kaja Dunn.
Dunn will give a presentation and take questions on Tuesday, January 26 from 5:30 – 6:30 p.m. via Zoom. Admission to the event is FREE, however reservations are required.

Since 2015, Bournemouth University’s Center for Health and Media Research has conducted an election analysis, including rapid responses and contributions from several leading U.S. and international academics. The diagnostic medical sonography program on the Salem Campus received a donation from Aultman Hospital that is providing enhanced learning opportunities for rad tech students studying this specialty. During the fall semester, the hospital donated a Siemens Acuson Sequoia ultrasound machine with multiple transducers. It performs abdominal and OB/GYN examinations and can also be used to teach vascular flow characteristics and disease. It is used for lab sessions across the entire sonography curriculum. Students can complete an Associate of Applied Science degree in Criminology and Justice Studies at Kent State University at Geauga and the Twinsburg Academic Center. Earning an associate degree in Criminology and Justice Studies allows graduates to pursue a career in jobs like probation work, advocacy and entry-level court positions after graduation.
