Kent State University President Todd Diacon announced Thursday that Lamar R. Hylton, Ph.D., has been selected to serve as vice president for student affairs, effective May 1, 2020. Hylton has been serving as the interim vice president for student affairs since Sept. 16, 2019. When Christopher Thompson prepared for a horticulture internship in Ghana, he knew it would be an experience of a lifetime. What he never expected, however, was how that experience would be turned upside-down by a world-wide pandemic. The Kent State University Board of Trustees approved three important budgetary measures to counter expected revenue reductions due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic during a special Board meeting held May 6.
