On Friday, July 8, 93 cadets graduate from Kent State University at Trumbull’s Police Academy.  More than 450 individuals are attending the ceremony, including graduates, friends and family, and Kent State University at Trumbull staff. The event is not open to the public. The 2016 Piano Institute, in association with the Piano Division of the Hugh A. Glauser School of Music at Kent State University, will present a series of master classes and recitals from July 19-26 on the university’s campus and culminate with the July 26 gala concert at Severance Hall’s Reinberger Chamber Hall in Cleveland. Angela Ridgel, Ph.D., an associate professor of exercise science at Kent State University and an avid cyclist, has designed a bicycle specially tailored to Parkinson’s patients.

Physical therapy is usually a component of treatment for patients of Parkinson’s disease and other neurodegenerative and motor system disorders. Now, a Kent State University professor in the College of Education, Health and Human Services has designed a piece of equipment that serves that purpose and sets the bar for exercise therapy higher. Kent State University’s Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost Todd Diacon has announced that David Dees, Ph.D., has been appointed interim dean and chief administrative officer of the Kent State University Columbiana County campuses, effective July 1, 2016.
