  Staying up late and braving the chilly overnight temperatures, Michael Gershe, senior advisor II in Kent State's College of Aeronautics and Engineering took photos of the "Blood Moon" lunar eclipse that occurred from about 1 a.m. - 3:30 a.m. on March 14. Make a difference: Become a Flashes 101 instructor

Help our newest Golden Flashes start strong in fall 2026 by serving as a Flashes 101 instructor, a meaningful opportunity to shape the Kent State experience for first-year students. This one-credit course is designed to support students as they transition into the university community. Winter coat and clothing drive

Now through Jan. 30 (excluding winter break), donate new, clean or gently used items for all ages including coats, hats, gloves and scarves. Winter coat and clothing donations will go to a variety of locations to help people in need, such as the Winter Warm Up Stations at SRVSS in the Williamson House, the CARES Center in the Student Center room 106; the Flashes Fighting Hunger Winter Warm Up Station in Tri-Towers; the Kent State Wilderness Wardrobe at the Student Recreation and Wellness Center.
